Facebook, widely known as FB, is one of the most popular social networking sites people of all ages are addicted to these days. It has millions of subscribers to date. Unfortunately, not all of them really know how to navigate and make use of all the cool apps that Facebook offers. What a waste! If you’re one of these FB-newbies, you need not worry any more. This post will help you to make most out of your Facebook profile. There are not some Facebook secret tips but most of these Facebook hacks and tips are uknown to many Fb users.
1. Appear Online Only to Selected Friends:
Facebook chat is one of the coolest and most useful features in FB. My dilemma, however, was how to limit the number of people I chat with every time I log in. I certainly can’t accommodate them all but I don’t want them to feel like I’m rejecting them when I don’t send them a reply. I didn’t know back then that it is possible to appear online only to a few selected friends. A friend of mine actually gave me this idea which I’m sure would be of use to you, too.
Here’s how to do it:
Go to Chat found at the lower right side of the page and then, click on gear icon and click on advanced settings. A window would pop-up, now in the field which says “Turn on chat for all friends, except..” start adding your friends name, for whom you don’t want to appear online. With this, you now appear completely invisible to them. Try it now.
2 : Changing fonts on Facebook status:
And I’m saving the best for the last. By default your status update have only one font, but you can always use 3rd party service to change the font of your status update. Here is a cool website which you can use to change font for your Facebook status updates.

3. Quickly Upload Photos from Picasa Application to Facebook:
It was a great challenge for me to find an alternative photo hosting application, an application that would really work to my liking. Picasa happens to be it. I find this application to be useful in sharing and organizing photos of various events like reunions and parties. It has plenty of exciting features; one of them is the ability to upload photos directly to your FB account. Here’s what you need to do to download and install latest version of Picasa.

Once the installation is complete, click Picasa application here to install the plugin.
Next, add the new Facebook button to your Picasa.
That’s it. You may now start uploading and sharing your photos using Picasa
4. Use Facebook search like a pro:

5. Find hidden unread messages
Not many people know this but you might be getting messages from people and don't know it. If someone sends you a message and you have no mutual friends, Facebook automatically filters their message into the "Other" message folder.
To find the "Other" folder, click the word bubble icon at the top of the page. Then next to where it says "Inbox" click "Other."
You might see a surprising amount of messages piled up in here, because Facebook never notifies you about any messages received from people who aren't in your network.
In fact, when I originally told my listeners this tip, one girl tried it found a message her birth mother had sent her a few years before. Who knows what you'll find!
6. Turn off Facebook's notification sounds
Click the upside down triangle in the upper right-hand corner of the Facebook page, then click the "Settings" link. In the left column select Notifications.
Where it says "On Facebook," click the "View" link and uncheck "Play a sound." Then click the "Save Changes" button
7.) Secret Groups:
In case you want to create a group and make sure that strangers won’t have any access to this group, Facebook is ready to give you this chance. Choose option Create New Group and mark the option named Secret. It’s done!
8.) Hiding Status:
do you want to hide your plans or emotions from particular people? There is nothing impossible! Update your status as usual, but before posting it, click on the lock icon under the frame for editing. A menu will offer you options for setting a status. If you failed to preserve confidentiality, click Customize in the window that appears, put one or more names in the Hide This From. Besides, you will find an option helping you to save these settings as a standard. Thus, and you do not have to worry about lack of security of personal data.
9.) Reading Messages Secretly:
In case you want to read a message secretly from the sender, you can ask Facebook to send you an e-mail notification. Facebook will send the message to your e-mail together with several recent reports with this user. You can send him the answer without going on Facebook, simply by replying to the letter or just read the message in your mailbox, and the user will not know what you’ve read it.
10. Cool Magic Circles on Facebook:
This is really simple, though I admit I didn’t get this the first time. This cool magic circles appearing on your page is just one of the many secret tricks you’ll find in Facebook. You might want to give this a try.
Here’s how: Press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Enter key then press up & down.Now, just in case it doesn’t work on your first try, try reloading your page again by pressing F5 and repeat the process.
